I've always known all the tricks Gunstar mentioned -I learned a lot of the basics when I played Sim City v1.1 on my Commodore 64.Īfter completely mastering Sim City 2000, I stopped playing after Sim City 3000 because my life got to busy to play it (I get waaay to obsessive with those games, its not healthy).This game has received the following rating from the ESRB I don't know whether its true or not (that its only possible on one map), but the mag said that they'd been sent a photo of a guy who'd pulled it off. There's another trick I found, if you build a residential zone in a tight space where you are just shy of building another zone.you can let all the little houses start building on the zone, then bulldoze 3 seperate houses(in a row), then build another residential zone right on top of it.this way you get a full zone, plus you have 6 little housing units squeezed in there. I prefer the block structure with 9 residential zones in a big square arrangement, with a special zone in the middle(like a Library).but there is also a good one where you two long rows of residential zones(or commercial) side by side, with the railroads flanking the sides.you can get more zones in this way, but I'm not sure if they produce more population overall since it makes it more difficult to utilize specials. There are two different ways to build your commercial and residential zones that are efficient, but I'm not sure which one produces more population overall. I build all my industrial zones on the edge of the screen so that half the pollution goes off the board completely. I think I've got a pretty good basic strategy.I always use Railroads.even at the beginning because it saves money later on.
